Cloud Infrastructure Optimization Engineer

As a core member of the engineering team, you'll work closely with application teams and stakeholders to ensure that our infrastructure is robust, scalable, and secure. You'll also contribute to strategic initiatives to evolve our cloud strategy and drive efficiency across multiple services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing infrastructure and cloud configurations to identify gaps and areas for cost optimization.
  • Develop and implement best practices and standardized processes for cloud resource usage, ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Optimize cloud and data center deployments for cost.
  • Collaborate with software development, security, and operations teams to integrate infrastructure and application workflows.
  • Monitor cloud performance metrics, leveraging data analytics, to proactively identify issues and recommend improvements.
  • Provide training and guidance to teams on new cloud technologies and optimization techniques.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and introduce new tools and methodologies to the organization whenever applicable.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure optimization, or a related domain, with a focus on large-scale cloud environments.
  • Strong expertise with cloud service providers like AWS and Azure, particularly with cost management.
  • Experience with physical data center management.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools, including Zabbix, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, and Azure Monitor.
  • Understanding of networking, security, and virtualization principles.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation frameworks.
  • Proficient in monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, or ELK stack).
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a strong ability to analyze performance metrics and engineer solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Project management skills to lead initiatives from concept to completion, with a focus on delivering results on time.
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or Docker.
  • Certification in relevant cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
